~~ I do not have medical experience, just sharing some of my research. ~~
If you check out my Health tab, you will see that I have done research on insulin resistance (with discussions about Type-2 diabetes), cancer and Alzheimer's. I chose these for my research since I have at least one member of my family or extended family, including myself, who has dealt or is currently dealing with one or more of these diseases. I hope that my investigations into prevention and control will help you!
I also added a health page about leaky gut, since many of us probably suffer from this at some level without even knowing it. And research shows that our gut is the foundation for everything that goes on in our bodies.
My most recent focus has been on the emerging field of epigenetics,
and how lifestyle choices can turn on and off the genes that trigger these diseases!
While doing my research, it seemed to me that the triggers for cancer, Alzheimer's, Type-2 diabetes and fatty liver disease kept pointing to the same three factors: obesity, insulin resistance and inflammation.
And what we eat may be at the root of it all!
So I created this flowchart to explain what I found.
I would love your feedback!
Some final food for thought...
Although many humans choose to eat both plants and meat, earning us the title of omnivore, we're anatomically herbivores.
We have hands and fingers, not claws.
We have long intestines for digesting fiber.
Our saliva contains starch-digesting enzymes.
We have small mouths with rotary jaw joints and flat grinding molars.
